This is my Dad, "Pedo" Donaldson, pictured on Guadalcanal in 1942. He had just turned 16 years old, and he later became a member of Carlson's Raiders.

Before his death in 1989, Dad tried to get me interested in helping him research the family history. But, I was too busy, and I told him that I had no time for the work.

After he died, Mom brought me a couple of sheets of ruled notebook paper. She said, "Dad wanted you to have these." I was brought to my knees!

Since that day I have done my very best to complete this work for him. His love and dedication to the Donaldson family is my inspiriation to do the very best that I can to bring this information together, to communicate this information to the family members, and preserve this data for our future generations.
